Cairns Celebrant

I am so glad you are here… and I am with you every step of the way.

On this journey, I’ll be more than your Cairns celebrant, I’m your friend, fairy godmother, wedding pro, creative inspo and sounding board. I will really listen to you and use your vision and life story as inspiration for your wedding ceremony. But above all else I want you to FEEL great! You are safe with me.

Having travelled and worked in over 60 countries around the world and accross Australia, I have met and worked with people from all walks of life. Open-minded and accepting, I am constantly amazed by all our differences and all our wonderful similarities. As they say in Jamaica,

“out of many, one people”. Love is love.

Cairns Celebrant… the best decision I ever made

As a full-time Cairns celebrant, things have come a long way. I was so tired of seeing boring marriage celebrants and thinking “these ceremonies have NOTHING to do with the couple, they deserve better than this!” So I took up the challenge and I feel really lucky to have one of the best jobs in the world.

But the secret is, this isn’t just a job for me, it fills me with joy. I float out of my weddings on a massive high and I have made a lot of close friends along the way.

I continue meeting and marrying beautiful humans doing what I love and filling my heart up with gratitude. Life is good.

But the path that led me to this wonderful vocation is certainly not the road most travelled. Many years ago, I quit my job and turned a holiday into a 3 year odyssey around the world. It changed my life. All of a sudden I felt a connection to the world and to the people in it and a great love for travel was born. I’ve been exploring ever since.

Adventures of a lifetime

As a marriage celebrant, I moved to Koh Tao, Thailand with my hubby and our baby girl.  Marrying couples in Thailand and Australia, it felt natural to expand into wedding planning and barefoot elopements, so it’s fair to say I know a thing or two about destination weddings! I started two other businesses along the way, a cultural day tour WOW Koh Tao and the famous Koh Tao Pub Crawl, which saw me singing and dancing my heart out with backpackers from around the world. I still pinch myself knowing that baby, that began literally in a dream, turned into one of the top 5 bar crawls in the world carrying up to 200 people in a night. I sure know how to host a party!

On the way back to Oz we spent a year backpacking South America, Antartica, The Stans, and Mongolia (with my parents! Where we nearly died in a freak reindeer accident). In fact, in 25 years of travel I’ve had many an adventure, been chased through the desert by guards on camel back, locked in an Egytian tomb and a Mexican holding cell, to say the least. All because I have a thing for serenity! You’ll find me sitting peacefully on a pyramid listening to howler monkeys as the moon rises over the jungle, long after the tourists have gone. It gets me in trouble. But hey, those are stories for another time…
